The name, and then the work

Hot Air Balloon Media Ltd is registered for motion picture production activities (SIC 59111) and video production activities (SIC 59112). Its registered office is at Paul Street in London.

First, the obvious. We do not operate hot air balloons. We do not sell balloon flights, pleasure flights or any other air transport, and we are not an air operator. The name is a name. Carrying passengers by balloon for reward requires a licence and an approved operator, and that is somebody else's business, not ours.

What we do is production. Films and videos made for a stated purpose: a brief that says what the thing is, how long it runs, who it is for, where it will be shown and for how long. Those last two decide the licensing of music, footage, contributors and performers, and they are the usual reason a production costs more than the quote.

We write the scope down, including usage and term, and we price changes as they come up rather than at the end. Masters and the delivery versions are handed over at the finish.

Where a production needs something we do not hold - a filming permit, a drone operator authorisation, a child performance licence - we will say so and arrange it properly or tell you who should.
